Privacy Policy

Your email address. So we can send you the briefing and contact you about your account.

Your preferences. The topics you pick, the priority order you set them in, your read-time, your tone, and your delivery time. We need these to build your briefing.

Basic account data. When you sign up, we create an account through our authentication provider (Supabase). They handle your password — we never see it.

Usage data. Whether you opened a briefing, when you last received one. We use this to keep the product working and to know whether you're still finding it useful.

Payment information. When paid plans launch, payments will be processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card details — Stripe handles all of that directly.

We use your information for exactly one thing: to deliver and improve your personalized briefing. Specifically:

• Build and send your daily email.
• Let you sign in to manage your preferences.
• Contact you about your account or important changes to the service.
• Understand how the product is being used at an aggregate level so we can make it better.

• We don't sell your data. Not now, not ever.
• We don't share your email with advertisers. We don't run ads in the briefing.
• We don't share your reading habits with anyone. What you read is between you and us.
• We don't use your data to train AI models. Our AI generates your briefing from public news sources — not from your private information.

Only the third parties we use to actually run the service:

• Supabase — stores your account and preferences.
• Anthropic — the AI that writes your briefing reads public news articles, not your personal data.
• Resend — delivers your email.
• Vercel — hosts the site.
• Stripe — will process payments when paid plans launch.

Each of these is bound by their own privacy practices. We don’t share your data with anyone outside this list.

You can:

• Access the data we hold about you — just ask.
• Correct anything that's wrong — most of it is editable from your dashboard.
• Delete your account and everything we have on you, anytime.
• Unsubscribe from emails with one click — every briefing includes the link.

We use the minimum cookies required to keep you signed in. No advertising cookies. No third-party tracking pixels in the briefing.

We’re a US-based service. Your data is stored on US-based servers operated by the providers listed above. If you’re using The Daily Debrief from outside the US, you’re consenting to your data being handled in the US.

If we change how we handle your data, we’ll update this page and email you before the change takes effect. We won’t quietly change things.
