Terms of Service

Last updated: August 22, 2026

These terms govern your use of The Daily Debrief. By creating an account or subscribing, you agree to them. Plain English where the law allows it.

The service

The Daily Debrief is a daily email briefing. The free tier delivers a shared wire edition: the day’s essential stories in a compact format. Paid tiers deliver a personalized briefing built around the topics you choose, ranked in your order, at your chosen length, tone, and delivery hour. We synthesize reporting from third-party news sources and link every story back to its original source.

We work to deliver your briefing reliably every day, but we don’t guarantee uninterrupted service; feeds go down, providers have outages, and occasionally an edition may be delayed or reduced in scope.

Subscriptions and auto-renewal

Plans and prices. The Annual plan is $108 per year. The Monthly plan is $12 per month. The Founding plan is $54 per year, limited in number, and that rate stays locked for as long as your subscription remains active.

Auto-renewal. All subscriptions renew automatically at the stated price at the end of each billing period, charged to your payment method on file, until you cancel. For annual plans, we email you a reminder roughly 30 days before renewal.

Free trial. New subscriptions start with a 7-day free trial. A payment card is required to start the trial, and the trial converts to a paid subscription, with your card charged the plan price, unless you cancel before the trial ends. We email you a notice roughly 2 days before your trial ends.

Cancellation. You can cancel anytime from the billing portal (Dashboard → Manage subscription). Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period; you keep access until then. Cancelling is as simple as subscribing: no calls, no forms, no retention hoops.

Refunds

Refund requests are handled case-by-case. If something went wrong (a billing mistake, a service failure, an honest change of heart shortly after renewal), email hello@thedailydebrief.co and we’ll sort it out promptly and in good faith.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Redistribute, republish, or resell briefing content; your subscription is for personal use.
  • Use automated means to scrape, harvest, or bulk-download content from the service.
  • Share your account credentials or use another person's account.
  • Use the service to violate any law or the rights of others.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the service, its infrastructure, or other users.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with a refund of any unused prepaid period where the violation wasn’t willful.

Content disclaimer

Briefings synthesize third-party reporting. Every story links to its original source, and we work hard to represent that reporting accurately, but we don’t independently verify the underlying journalism and can’t guarantee it is complete, accurate, or current.

Nothing in any briefing is financial, investment, legal, or tax advice. Coverage of markets, companies, and economic developments is news reporting, not a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold anything. Make investment decisions with a qualified adviser, not a newsletter.

Limitation of liability

The service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Daily Debrief and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or opportunity, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

Some jurisdictions don’t allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The operating entity is a US limited liability company. Any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to their jurisdiction.

Changes to these terms

If we make material changes to these terms, we’ll email you before the changes take effect and update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the service after the effective date means you accept the updated terms. If you don’t, cancel from the billing portal and the old terms apply until your period ends.
